Strynukagigar is a massive volcano that last erupted about 4,000 years ago and currently shows no signs of erupting again. However, experts say it could “awaken” at any time. Its volcanic cone is only 35 meters high, yet the magnificent natural wonder is hidden within its modest form. A fissure less than 6 meters wide can “swallow” an underground magma cave of 100,000 cubic meters. During its last eruption, the magma in one chamber did not erupt but instead solidified inside, forming colorful walls. It is one of the world’s largest volcanic lava caves and the first such cave in the world to be opened to the public—an absolutely breathtaking sight.
