Attraction Description   The location is exceptionally privileged, as this site was previously a military fortress built by the Genoese in 1215. Visiting the palace is like taking a journey through several centuries, from the medieval papal period to the Napoleonic Wars. Currently, within this luxurious palace, you can visit: the Italian-style gallery, the Louis XV Lounge, the Massalin Lounge, the Throne Room, the Palatine Chapel, and the Sainte-Marie Tower. Around the palace square, there are cannons cast during the reign of Louis XIV. From the square (northeast side), you can see the Port of Monte Carlo and, in the distance, Cap Martin in Italy. Looking southwest, you can take in the views of the Fointaine-Riou River and the Pointe de la Veille.
