Warwick

Warwick is located on the River Avon, 18 km south of Coventry and west of where Leamington Spa connects with Whitnash. It is the county town of Warwickshire in the West Midlands of England, UK.

The area’s most famous attraction is Warwick Castle (also translated as Warwick Fort), which sits on a cliff overlooking the River Avon. This medieval-style castle was built in 1068 by William the Conqueror and was once used to imprison prisoners. During the Hundred Years' War between England and France, the outer walls of Warwick Castle facing the town were reinforced, making it one of the most iconic military architectural models of the 14th century. Today, it is included in the UK’s Ancient Monuments list and is a Grade I listed building. Other notable sights include the magnificent St Mary’s Church presided over by the clergy, the 400-year-old St John’s Museum, the Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum showcasing local military history, the Warwick Racecourse which retains its original historic character, the scenic St Nicholas Park, the interesting Dream Factory, and the Warwickshire Museum which comprehensively displays the archaeology, geology, and natural history of Warwick.
