Located in Kent, Canterbury Cathedral has been the spiritual leader of English cathedrals for nearly 500 years. Other important structures in Canterbury include St Augustine’s Abbey, one of the oldest churches in Britain, and the ruins of St Martin’s Church, which has played a very important role in Christian missionary work since 597 AD, blending Romanesque and Early Gothic styles skillfully.

The world-renowned Canterbury Cathedral is grand in scale, approximately 156 meters long and about 50 meters wide at its broadest point, with the central tower reaching 78 meters in height. The cathedral dates back to Augustine, and has undergone continuous additions and expansions over time. The nave was built between 1391 and 1405, the north and south aisles between 1414 and 1468, and the three towers were constructed in different periods. The tall, slender nave, the soaring central tower, and the north and south towers of the west façade showcase the upward-soaring spirit of Gothic architecture, while the east façade exhibits the robust and solid Norman style.

At the eastern end of the church lies a large crypt dedicated to St Thomas. The church also houses the tombs of notable figures such as Henry IV, Edward, the Black Prince—who gained fame for his military exploits in France during the Hundred Years' War—and others. Exhibits here include the armor, shields, and other weapons they once used.
