Of course, different countries produce different types of dog collars. To help people better understand the various types of dog collars, the UK has established a dedicated Dog Collar Museum.

The Dog Collar Museum is located in Leeds Castle, Maidstone District, Kent, England. It has a collection history of over 500 years and attracts 500,000 domestic and international visitors each year. Lady Baillie, the last owner of Leeds Castle Manor, was often accompanied by dogs, and her love for dogs led to the establishment of this museum. As the world’s largest dog collar museum, it houses a collection of more than 100 dog collars and related items spanning five centuries. The collection was originally gathered and donated to Leeds Castle by Irish medieval scholar John Hunt and his wife. Many of the collars date back to the 15th century. The design and creation of dog collars were intended to protect dogs from attacks by wild animals, as wolves, bears, and wild boars frequently roamed the European forests at the time.

The most eye-catching exhibits in the Dog Collar Museum are the Baroque leather collars from Germany and Austria dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, decorated with metal and velvet—both aesthetically pleasing and ornamental.
