Canterbury is a town in Kent, in the southeast of England, UK. It is located in the eastern part of Kent, about 89 kilometers southeast of London. The area was the earliest settlement of the Roman Catholic Church in Britain and is now the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the spiritual leader of the Church of England. It is not only an important tourist destination in the UK but also home to the renowned University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University.

The magnificent Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous Christian buildings in the UK and serves as the spiritual leader among British cathedrals. Together with St Augustine’s Abbey, which is also among the oldest churches in Britain, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. St Martin’s Church, which blends Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, is also a particularly significant local structure, having played a crucial role in Christian missionary work since 597 AD. Other notable sights include St Peter’s Church, which boasts over 900 years of history, the Norman Canterbury Castle on Castle Street, and other religious buildings.
