Introduction The Flower Clock is a famous attraction in Geneva. Switzerland is known as the "Land of Gardens" and also the "Home of Watches." Even more wonderfully, Swiss artisans have ingeniously combined the beauty of flowers with the craftsmanship of watchmaking to create the unique "Flower Clock."

The Flower Clock is situated by the shores of Lake Geneva and serves as both an aesthetic display and a functioning timepiece. Its mechanical structure is underground, while the clock face above ground is covered with fresh green turf, and the Arabic numerals representing the 12 hours are formed by dense clusters of bright red flowers. Sometimes, the clock face blooms with vibrant flowers, yet its numbers are replaced by flat stretches of green. It changes colors with the seasons but always remains vivid and fragrant. When the flowers that make up the clock face finish blooming, they are replaced with others to create new patterns. The hour and minute hands move just like those of a regular clock, accurately traversing the clock face in sunlight or through wind and rain. While admiring the innovative design of the Flower Clock, visitors often find themselves checking their own watches.

The Swiss people take great pride in the design of the "Flower Clock," which is even used as the symbol on the city map of Geneva. Similar "Flower Clocks" can be found in parks across many other Swiss cities, but the one in Geneva is the original.
