The Museum of Fine Arts and History is located in the city center of Geneva, Germany. Built between 1903 and 1910, it has four floors above and below ground, with an exhibition area of up to 7,000 square meters. It is the largest art museum in Geneva and also houses a vast collection of archaeological finds.

As Switzerland’s only encyclopedic museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and History is divided into three major sections: fine arts, applied arts, and archaeology, each with its own distinctive features and high aesthetic and viewing value. The fine arts collection includes paintings from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, created by artists from Italy, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other countries. The applied arts collection encompasses Byzantine art, portraits, silverware, pewterware, textiles, musical instruments, and weapons from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance—each piece a masterpiece that inspires awe. The archaeology collection is rich and diverse, primarily covering prehistoric Europe, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and Rome, Sudan, and the Middle East. Among the most notable items is a 9th-century BC Egyptian mummy.

In addition to fine arts, applied arts, and archaeology collections, the Museum of Fine Arts and History also boasts a collection of precious timepieces, enamelware, miniatures, jewelry, and tools from around the world.
