The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, often referred to as the “International Red Cross Museum,” was established in 1988. It primarily introduces the history and current activities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, allowing every visitor to understand the role of the International Red Cross.

The museum records the history and activities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent. Here, visitors can learn about the Red Cross through various means such as photographs, videos, and sculptures. Chinese audio guide services are also provided to accommodate Chinese tourists. The exhibitions are divided into three independent thematic sections, each designed by world-renowned architects based on their different cultural backgrounds: defending human dignity, reconnecting families, and the theme of refusing death through prevention. Through the exhibitions, visitors can learn about the Red Cross—the oldest and largest humanitarian organization in the world. There is also a global interactive platform on-site that showcases the latest news in the field of humanitarianism.

In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum also hosts temporary special exhibitions. Moreover, the museum houses a series of collections and stores deposits belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
