Duke of Brunswick Tomb

The Duke of Brunswick Tomb is located in the Swiss city of Geneva and is the burial site of Duke Charles II of Brunswick. Built in 1879 in Geneva, Switzerland, it was modeled after the Scaliger Tombs in Verona.

Duke Charles II of Brunswick donated his fortune to Geneva, with the sole condition that a tomb be built for him in the city after his death. He passed away in this city in 1873, and the government constructed the tomb in accordance with his wishes. Next to the tomb stands a massive lion sculpture, gazing forward as if forever guarding the resting place of the Duke of Brunswick.
