The Hanggali Lake Ecological Tourism Area is located 7.5 kilometers north of Bayan Hushuo Town, the seat of the banner. It has a water storage capacity of 92.5 million cubic meters, a fish farming area of 1,700 hectares, and an annual maximum fish catch of 250,000 kilograms. It is a comprehensive tourism area integrating irrigation, aquaculture, and sightseeing. A stroll along the lakeshore leaves you feeling especially refreshed and extraordinarily at ease.

The picturesque Hanggali Lake features mountains and waters in harmony. The mountains are covered with lush, verdant trees, including rare species such as Mongolian yellow elm, five-angled maple, mulberry, and poplar. At the edges of the lake area and where the hills connect, tall willows abound. The grasslands along the upper and middle reaches of the streams resemble embroidered felt, with emerald-green turf dotted with colorful flowers. This is a wetland climate zone characteristic of the Horqin Grassland. Every time I come here, I feel a sense of refreshment and joy.

Hanggali Lake boasts uniquely rich tourism resources. The water from the Holin River has carried high-quality flowing sand from the Horqin Sandy Land, forming premium soft “golden beaches” around the lake area—an exceptionally rare natural sandy beach perfect for sunbathing. The unpolluted water nurtures “green aquatic products.” Beneath the lake lies a residential area that has been replanned and renovated, offering uniquely charming scenery. To the south of the drainage channel, a thousand acres of paddy fields are neatly arranged. The dam’s hardening project, lighting project, and slope beautification project have made the area particularly stunning. The surroundings of the lake area are dotted with distinctive “Mongolian yurts,” “fishing villages,” and “floating restaurants.” Dining there on Mongolian specialties and tasting fish from Hanggali Lake not only satisfies the eyes but also the palate. You can also enjoy the much-sought-after “green” whole fish feast and hand-grabbed lamb, with visitors coming in an endless stream.

Hanggali Lake is scenically beautiful and uniquely characterized by the wetland climate of the Horqin Grassland. Hanggali Reservoir, located 7.3 kilometers north of Bayan Hushun in Horqin Right Middle Banner, is a medium-sized reservoir formed by diverting water from the Holin River into Hanggali Lake. It serves as a comprehensive water conservancy project for flood control, irrigation, power generation, fish farming, and recreation. Completed in 1997, it has a water storage capacity of 92.5 million cubic meters, a dam length of 1,000 meters, and a dam height of 18 meters. The reservoir is surrounded by mountains on three sides and is adjacent to National Highway 111. The area around the lake features beautiful grasslands or sparse woodlands, with clear lake water and white, soft sandy shores, suitable for swimming, boating, and recreational activities. Boats have been set up on the lake, and visitors often come here for tours.

Bayan Hushuo Town: Nowadays, Bayan Hushuo Town has complete infrastructure and convenient transportation. The Tongliao–Holinhe Railway runs east-west, and National Highway 111 runs north-south, forming a crisscrossing, well-connected railway and highway transportation network centered on Bayan Hushuo Town, with roads extending to every village. The town has advanced postal and telecommunications facilities, with a three-dimensional communication network primarily based on optical cable digital microwave and satellite communication systems already in place.
