Ancient City Site of Tulemaodu

The ancient city site of Tulemaodu is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Jin Dynasty

The ancient city site of Tulemaodu is located in the northern part of Tulemaodu Town, Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner, Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 90 kilometers from the banner government seat. It borders Baoshi and Xuetian Townships of Tuquan County to the east and was an important stronghold in the northeastern region during the Jin Dynasty. In the northwest corner of the city there is a well, and the southwestern part features a dense concentration of housing. Careful observers may find pottery shards, copper coins, and remnants of ironware within the city. The eastern part of the city is a very regular rectangle, with a perimeter of 1,410 meters. There is a city gate to the north, a side gate in the eastern wall, and a moat approximately 5 meters wide outside the city.

In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
