The Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner Museum, located east of Bayan Hushuo Town, was put into use in 2009. It covers an area of 12,000 square meters, with a building area of 4,833.6 square meters and a height of 28.2 meters. The museum’s exterior design resembles a bow and arrow pointing toward the sky, symbolizing “the brave archer.” The holy flames on both sides of the dome are like burning fire, representing the enduring vitality and everlasting legacy of the Mongolian people. The Sülde figures on both sides of the entrance and the patterns on the walls give the building a strong ethnic character. At the center of the square in front of the museum stands a bronze statue of Qabutu Hasar, the founding ancestor of the Horqin people. The 4.5-meter-tall, 2.5-ton sculpture adds profound historical and cultural significance to the museum. The museum houses four exhibition areas dedicated to folk customs, history (cultural relics), natural geography, and intangible culture. It is open to the public free of charge year-round, making it one of the important tourist attractions in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner. The museum boasts a collection of 1,536 cultural relics, including 7 first-class and 28 second-class relics, with highlights such as the “Yuan Dynasty Five-Script Night Patrol Token” and artifacts unearthed from the “No. 3 Tomb of the Liao Dynasty at Daqintala.” These precious relics offer insights into the social, economic, cultural, and military aspects of various ethnic groups living in the region during the Sui, Tang, Song, Liao, and Jin dynasties, as well as the evolution of the Horqin tribe of the Mongolian people, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the history of Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner.
