The Zhelimu Ten Banners League Site

The Zhelimu League Site, also known as the Ten Banners League Site, is located at the foot of Zhelimu Mountain in Tulemaodu Town, Horqin Right Middle Banner. It was historically the regular meeting place for the banners of Horqin. To strengthen control over Mongolia, Emperor Taizong of the Qing Dynasty, Hong Taiji, reorganized the Mongolian tribes according to the Manchu Eight Banners system, dividing them into six leagues. Among these, the ancient Zhelimu League was divided into four parts and ten banners. According to Qing court regulations, the leagues would convene every three years at the foot of Zhelimu Mountain for military reviews, leadership elections, trade exchanges, and the hosting of Naadam festivals, giving rise to the name "Ten Banners League Site." The site consists of one large obo and ten smaller ones, arranged in a roughly circular formation. The central main obo stands 6 meters tall with a base diameter of about 5 meters, surrounded by ten smaller oboes, each approximately 2 meters tall with base diameters of around 2 meters.
