Mauritshuis Museum

The Mauritshuis Museum is an art museum located in The Hague, the Netherlands. It opened to the public in 1822. Originally the residence of Prince Johan Maurits of Nassau-Siegen, it now houses an extensive art collection. The Mauritshuis Museum is a Dutch Classicist building, designed by Dutch architects Jacob van Campen and Pieter Post.

The Mauritshuis Museum is a two-story building with strict symmetry, featuring four rooms and one hall. Each room was designed with an antechamber, a main chamber, a cabinet, and a cloakroom. Initially, the building had a domed cupola, which was destroyed by fire in 1704. The current collection includes paintings by Dutch masters such as Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter, and Frans Hals, as well as works by German painter Hans Holbein the Younger.
