Museo Poldi Pezzoli
Introduction In 1850, art collector Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli decided to transform his apartment into a private palace. The two-story house was divided into around 20 rooms, each designed by renowned artists of the time and arranged according to different eras and artistic styles: Baroque, Rococo, Medieval, and more, adorned with artworks matching their respective styles. When this private museum first opened to the public during the 1881 Milan Expo, thousands of visitors flocked to see it.
Main collections: Portraits such as "Portrait of a Woman" by Pollaiuolo, "Madonna and Child" by Botticelli, works by Mantegna, and other personal collections including paintings from the 15th to 19th centuries, weapons, tapestries, furniture, wall clocks, bronze statues, jewels, and more. Transportation Address: Via Manzoni 12 Transportation: Metro MM1 line to Duomo station, MM3 line to Montenapoleone station. Tickets/Opening Hours Ticket: €8. Opening Hours: 10:00–18:00, closed on Mondays, January 1, January 6, Easter, April 25, May 1, August 15, November 1, December 7–8, and December 25–26.
