Former Residence of Yan Jinsheng

The former residence of Yan Jinsheng is located in the courtyard of Li Fucun in Loujiazhuang, Loufan Town, Loufan County, with a construction area of 230 square meters.

In February 1941, in accordance with instructions from the Shanxi–Northwest Military District, the 3rd Military Sub-district conducted training under combat readiness conditions. The sub-district headquarters along with the 716th and 8th Regiments of the 358th Brigade were stationed in the areas of Loujiazhuang and Dafuzhuang. At that time, Yan Jinsheng, who served as the Deputy Political Commissar of the 716th Regiment, lived in Loujiazhuang Village. The former residence originally consisted of three stone caves and three east-wing rooms. The caves have been well preserved, but the houses were burned down by Japanese troops.

A major general in the People's Liberation Army, Deputy Director of the General Political Department, and member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

A native of Chaling County, Hunan Province, Yan Jinsheng was born in April 1918 into a poor farming family in Yaopi Township, Chaling County. He joined the Communist Youth League in July 1930 and served as Secretary of the Children’s Bureau in Yaopi District. In 1932, he joined the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army and became a member of the Chinese Communist Party the same year. Loujiazhuang Village: Loujiazhuang Village is under the jurisdiction of Loufan Town, Loufan County, and includes two natural villages: Dageduoduo and Baidaopo. It borders Yao Luo to the east, Baidao to the south, the county seat to the north, and connects with Dafuzhuang to the west, being less than one li from the county town; it is classified as a suburban-type village.

The village currently has 368 farming households with a population of 1,648, including 624 laborers. The total land area of the village is 4,100 mu, including 2,963 mu of arable land and 1,072 mu of returned farmland, averaging 1.3 mu of arable land per person.
