Former Residence of Zhang Zongxun

The former residence of Zhang Zongxun is located in Sanyuan Village, Loufan Town, Loufan County, covering an area of 416 square meters. This house is a Qing Dynasty–era building that originally served as the residence of the head of the former Jingle County Bureau of Culture and Education. In 1941, when the 358th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army established an anti-Japanese base in Loufan County, Brigade Commander Zhang Zongxun lived on the gate tower of this residence for over a month.

Zhang Zongxun (1908–1998), born in Yantou Village, Chishui Town, Weinan County (now Xiangyang Subdistrict, Linwei District), graduated from the Political Department of the Fourth Phase of the Whampoa Military Academy in April 1927. He joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in June 1924, became a member of the Chinese Communist Party in February 1926, and entered the Whampoa Military Academy the same year. He participated in the Northern Expedition, the Autumn Harvest Uprising, and the Long March. He endured the trials of the democratic revolution and socialist construction. Sanyuan Village: Sanyuan Village belongs to Loufan Town, Loufan County. It is situated east of the county seat, upstream of the Fenhe Reservoir, and 2 kilometers from the county town. It connects southward to Jingle, northward to Lan County, and eastward to the county town, making it a vital transportation hub in Loufan County whose important role cannot be overlooked.
