Nevers is a commune in France, located on the right bank of the Loire River in the Nièvre department of the Burgundy region. It serves as the prefecture of the Nièvre department and is a highly charming ancient city.

Nevers features narrow, winding streets, countless houses from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and a variety of architectural styles. The most magnificent among them is the Nevers Cathedral, which consists of two combined buildings, while the Church of Saint Étienne is a notable example of Gothic architecture in the Auvergne region.

The Palais ducal de Nevers, built between the 15th and 16th centuries, is a historic monument now serving as a municipal building and a ceramics museum. The open square in front of the Ducal Palace offers one of the best views of the Loire Valley. The square tower with turrets houses many sculptures and Roman relics, and the 18th-century triumphal arch, built to commemorate military victories, is also not to be missed.
