Mâcon

Mâcon is a small city in central France, located in the Saône-et-Loire department of the Burgundy region, 65 kilometers north of Lyon. It is also the capital of the department and is known for its wine production and annual wine fair. Furthermore, it is the birthplace of the renowned French writer and poet Alphonse de Lamartine.

The Mâcon Cathedral built between 1808 and 1818, the Old Saint-Vincent in the town center, the towering Town Hall, the Church of Saint-Pierre, Saint-Pierre Square, the ancient castle, the Ursuline Convent, and many wooden houses are all must-see attractions in Mâcon.
