Toul

Toul is a commune in the northeastern French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, serving as its subprefecture. Located between Commercy and Nancy, it is a city worth visiting in the department.

The most notable feature of Toul is its ancient stone walls. The surviving sections are the work of Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, an engineer from the time of Louis XIV, which together with their associated structures form the old town of Toul. The Gothic cathedral and the bishop’s buildings constructed in the late Middle Ages still silently recount the glorious history of the past. The Toul History Museum, Art Museum, and Theater are excellent places to learn about the city’s history, art, and culture. In addition, visitors can relax at the numerous outdoor cafés and enjoy delicious meals at the many restaurants.
