Thionville

Thionville is a commune in the Moselle department of France, located on the left bank of the Moselle River, opposite Yutz and near Luxembourg. It is a charming town with a long history.

The Old Flea Tower (Tower of Puces), the fortress built in the 19th century (LE FORT DE GUENTRANGE), classical churches, bell towers, and the grand town hall are among Thionville’s historic buildings. The Flea Tower houses the Thionville Public Museum. The Thionville Resistance and Deportation Museum showcases the resistance history of the people in the Moselle region during World War II.

Thionville is also a vibrant city, with the Municipal Theatre and Thionville Theatre hosting many wonderful performances. The Jacques Brel Centre and several museums regularly hold exhibitions. The Summer Festival in June and other events are not to be missed. Additionally, the beautiful Moselle River and tranquil parks are great spots for leisurely walks and cycling.
