La Rochelle

La Rochelle is a city in western France, a port on the eastern shore of the Bay of Biscay and the capital of the Charente-Maritime department. It is located along the Atlantic coast, near the Île de Ré, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The area is a well-developed seaside tourist town in France and is also home to several educational institutions, including the University of La Rochelle.

With its long history, picturesque scenery, and vibrant water sports scene, La Rochelle is considered one of the most beautiful cities on France’s Atlantic coast in the west. The city's most famous attraction is the Old Harbour (Old Harbour) in the city center, which features charming natural surroundings and is lined with a variety of restaurants serving seafood cuisine. The aquarium and botanical garden are also highly recommended. From the harbor, visitors can take boat trips to see the Fort Boyard, a historic sea fortress.
