Martyrs' Tomb of Teng Sikun

The Martyrs' Tomb of Teng Sikun is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Martyrs' Tomb of Teng Sikun is located at the northwest corner of Fan Bulan’s backyard vegetable garden in Lingtangwan, Dafuzhuang Village, Loufan Town, Loufan County. Teng Sikun (1913–1941), also known as Teng Daiji, was from Mayang, Hubei. In 1938, he went to Yan'an and, through the introduction of Teng Daiyuan, entered the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University. After graduation, he headed to the front lines of the War of Resistance against Japan. He once served as a platoon leader in the 6th Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 358th Brigade, 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army. In the autumn of 1941, while the 6th Company of the 7th Regiment, 358th Brigade was stationed in Dafuzhuang Village, they engaged in fierce combat with Japanese troops that had entered the village on a "mopping-up" operation. Teng Sikun and other Eighth Route Army soldiers died heroically. According to villagers’ recollections, after the battle, local militiamen buried the fallen martyrs in Lingtanggou to the south and north of the village without using coffins or leaving any markers. In the 1990s, villagers discovered the remains of the martyrs while reclaiming land for an orchard. In 2010, during a survey of revolutionary sites, based on villagers’ memories and contact with historical records departments in Mayang, Hubei, the martyr’s identity and burial site were confirmed.

Dafuzhuang Village: Dafuzhuang Village belongs to Loufan Town, Loufan County. It is located to the west of the county town, at the confluence of the Jian River and the Ximi River. To the east is Tongzi Cliff, to the south is the Jian River, to the north is Zhouhong Mountain, and to the west it borders Bianjiazhuang. It is 1 kilometer from the county town; it is a suburban-type village. The terrain is higher in the west and lower in the east, with the highest elevation at 1280 meters and the lowest at 1250 meters. The land includes valley and floodplain fields, ridge (mountain ridge) land, mountainside areas, and woodland on mountaintops.
