Qingxu Qingquan Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Shanxi Province.

Address: Pingquan Village, Qingyuan Town, Qingxu County

It is named after the clear spring that flows day and night in front of the temple. First built in the 24th year of the Zhi Zheng era during the Yuan Dynasty (1365), the temple has undergone multiple renovations during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Built along the mountain, it is divided into three courtyards. Major structures include the Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Main Hall, Five Blessings Cave, and Nine Lotus Cave.

The Mahavira Hall is five bays wide and three bays deep, featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. In the center of the hall stand three main Buddha statues, surrounded by over twenty wooden carved statues. The Guanyin Pavilion is a two-story, double-eave hip-and-gable roof building. The lower level has a surrounding corridor, while the upper level houses a seated Guanyin statue on a lotus pedestal, with statues of the Four Heavenly Kings beneath the pedestal.

Qingyuan Town: Located in the suburbs of Taiyuan, Qingyuan Town is the seat of the Qingxu County government. The town administers 23 administrative villages with a total population of 38,000. It is an important hub for Qingxu County’s economic development and one of the main suppliers of vegetables for the provincial capital.
