Liuwuzhai Yunmengwu Cultural Industry Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

“In Xinghua Village there’s Old White Fen, in Taiyuan City there’s Liuwuzhai.” The time-honored Chinese brand Liuwuzhai was founded in 1738 (the third year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty). Its braised meat series was once an imperial tribute, renowned throughout the capital. Now a famous delicacy of Shanxi, it enjoys nationwide fame. With its long history and refined craftsmanship, it stands unparalleled among national producers of Chinese-style meat products. It is an agricultural industrialization leading enterprise that has earned three major national honors: “China Famous Trademark,” “Time-Honored Chinese Brand,” and “National Intangible Cultural Heritage.” It ranks among the “Top 100 Meat Product Enterprises Nationwide” and the “Top 50 Bean Product Enterprises Nationwide.”

Liuwuzhai Yunmengwu Cultural Industry Park is located on the Xugou section of National Highway 208 in Qingxu, covering nearly 500 acres. “Yunmengwu” (the name is derived from Liuwuzhai’s signature product, braised pork knuckle, which originates from the cold dish “Chanhua Yunmeng Meat” from the transition period between the Sui and Tang dynasties, recorded in the early Song Dynasty classic “Qing Yi Lu,” hence the name Yunmeng) features four types of modern factories built with substantial investment across the park: meat products, bean products, staple food processing, and a central kitchen, as well as a historical and cultural exhibition hall, a food safety monitoring center, and a cultural and creative park. These 500 acres vividly showcase the legendary history of imperial ministers’ tales, folk delicacies entering the palace, and palace cuisine returning to the people.

Through scenic spots such as the Yunfeng Pillar, Fish-Dragon Wall, and Yunmeng Mountain, the park fully displays Liuwuzhai’s more than 200 years of twists and turns—from its fame in the capital, to the decline during the Japanese invasion, when the business dwindled, to the return of its successors to their hometown to seek a new path, inheriting and promoting millennia-old techniques to create a unique national treasure now listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Transportation Information:

By Car: Drive south along Binhe West Road, turn left onto Xiaoniu Line and continue south for 10 kilometers to arrive. Alternatively, after reaching the Xiaodian Expressway exit, drive south along National Highway G208, then one kilometer south after Changzhuang Intersection.

By Bus: Take Bus 906 and get off at Changjiazhuang Intersection, then walk one kilometer south to reach the park.
