Woodbine Racetrack opened to the public on June 12, 1956, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is used for Thoroughbred horse racing, adding a vibrant splash of color to this energetic city. The racetrack was expanded in 1993, and starting in 1994, it featured three distinct racecourses. Currently, the racetrack is widely recognized as one of the largest horse racing venues in Canada and enjoys an international reputation.

Woodbine Racetrack is hailed as home to two of Canada’s three crown jewels. Its most famous event is the "Queen's Plate," one of the oldest horse races in North American history; the other is the "Breeders' Stakes," an internationally renowned competition. Other notable events held here include the Canadian Cup and the North America Cup. The main track is oval-shaped, a dirt course measuring one mile (1.6 km) and 7 furlongs, featuring 80% uphill sections. The outermost E. P. Taylor Turf Course, designed specifically for Thoroughbred races, is an irregularly shaped grass track stretching 2.4 kilometers.

Woodbine Racetrack has a total of 13,000 spectator seats and can accommodate up to 1,860 horses. Queen Elizabeth II once attended the 151st running of the Queen's Plate here.
