Canada Textile Museum

The Canada Textile Museum is located in Toronto and was established in 1975. It is the only museum in Canada dedicated to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of textiles, showcasing visual arts and craft media, and is one of the most captivating visual art destinations in Canada.

The museum’s collection includes over 12,000 textiles from more than 200 countries and regions around the world, making it a gathering place for diverse ethnic cultures globally. Its extensive and diverse collection displays over 2,000 years of textile history and culture, featuring traditional textiles, garments, carpets, quilts, cushions, fabrics, cloth, as well as bead-decorated items and baskets related to textiles. Some exhibits are even available for touching. The museum also introduces visitors to the raw materials and production processes of textiles, displaying images of plants and looms, allowing visitors to learn how to distinguish different fabrics and materials and understand their applications.

There is also a special exhibition room designed for children, where they are encouraged to touch and play with the displayed items, including fabric artworks made by children themselves.
