The Design Exchange is located in Toronto’s former stock exchange building. It is a non-profit design museum established in 1994 that hosts over 50 exhibitions annually to celebrate the significant value of design to the economy, quality of life, and the environment.

The Design Exchange is Canada’s only museum dedicated to design art and the preservation of design heritage. Its diverse exhibitions reflect current trends in contemporary art, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The museum primarily showcases achievements in Canadian and international industrial design, product design, furniture design, packaging design, and architectural design. Its permanent collection includes over 600 items, with a focus on industrial design such as furniture, textiles, household goods, and electronics. These collections tell the story of major political, technological, and social changes from World War II to the present.
