Limassol Medieval Castle

Built in the early Byzantine period. In 1191, King Richard the Lionheart held his wedding ceremony with the daughter of the King of Navarre here. The city was captured by the Turks in 1570 and later became a British colony. Various eras have left their mark on the ancient fortress, resulting in a complex architectural style. It now serves as a medieval museum, showcasing mainly artifacts from the Middle Ages.
