Bellapais Abbey
Attraction Introduction
Bellapais Abbey is located near Kyrenia in the Turkish Cypriot-controlled area of Cyprus. This Gothic structure, built between 1198 and 1205, has a history of over 800 years.
The abbey, situated on a hillside, consists of the main church, cloisters, gardens, an underground dining hall, and a pulpit, among other features. Today, it has become one of the main tourist attractions in Northern Cyprus, drawing a steady stream of foreign visitors throughout the year.
