Attraction Introduction

The Dionysos Room is a Roman-style villa, dating back to around the 3rd century AD. Its mosaic floors are considered some of the most beautiful artworks in the Eastern Mediterranean, mostly depicting scenes from Greek mythology.

The Dionysos Room is located in Paphos in the southwest of Cyprus. It was unearthed between 1962 and 1974 by a local farmer. According to archaeologists, the building was originally the villa of a vineyard owner—a private residence with over 40 rooms.

The nearby Theseus Room also features mosaic flooring. Archaeological excavations in the surrounding area are still ongoing.
