The Helong Road Residence is located in Beixiaodian Village, Beixiaodian Township, Yangqu County, covering a construction area of 120 square meters. On August 22, 1937, the main forces of the Red Army were reorganized into the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army. The troops of the Second Front Army, along with the 27th and 28th Armies of the Northern Shaanxi Red Army, the 1st and 2nd Independent Divisions, the Chishui Guard Battalion, and one battalion of the Headquarters Special Regiment were reorganized into the 120th Division. He Long was appointed as the division commander, Xiao Ke as the deputy commander, Zhou Shidi as the chief of staff, Guan Xiangying as the head of the Political Training Department, and Gan Siqi as the deputy head. In September, He Long led the 120th Division across the Yellow River to the area north of Xinzhou. In October, he advanced into the northern section of the Tongpu Railway to support the Battle of Xinkou, with the division headquarters stationed in Wucai. After the fall of Taiyuan, the Eighth Route Army Headquarters instructed the 120th Division to initiate guerrilla warfare in the vicinity of Taiyuan and to take on the task of establishing the base area in Northwestern Shanxi. In mid-November, He Long led his troops from Kelan to Lan County. Along the way, they passed through Beixiaodian Town in Yangqu, where He Long stayed for two days at the “Yongquan Chang” merchant store. Before leaving, he left behind the 3rd Battalion of the 715th Regiment to help establish a War Mobilization Committee in Beixiaodian and also helped form the 6th Guerrilla Squadron in Chashang and the 7th Guerrilla Squadron in Cha’shang. The original residence was built during the Qing Dynasty but has suffered severe damage due to years of neglect and disrepair.

Beixiaodian Village is located northwest of Taiyuan City and is the seat of the People's Government of Beixiaodian Township. The village has 260 households and a population of 823. It has 2,800 mu of arable land and 5,000 mu of woodland and mountain slopes, comprising two natural villages: Beixiaodian and Liangzhuang. The main sources of income for local farmers are farming and working outside the village, while forestry and animal husbandry have not yet developed into established industries.
