Islamic Art Museum

This museum was designed by Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei and is the largest and most modern art museum in the Middle East, open to the public free of charge. It is said that I.M. Pei drew inspiration from the ablution fountain of a 13th-century mosque in Cairo when designing this museum with its geometric and mathematical beauty. The building materials used in the museum are the finest and most expensive available: the limestone comes from France, the granite from the United States, the stainless steel from Germany, and the date palms planted along the walkways were imported from Egypt and Jordan.
