　 Guide Location: About 2 km north of Angkor Thom’s Victory Gate. Construction period: 12th century. Religion: Buddhism. Dedicated to: The king's father. Introduction The temple’s name comes from the legend of King Jayavarman II passing on the sacred sword to his successor. King Jayavarman VII resided here during the reconstruction of Angkor, and it was once one of the most important temples for the Khmer people, where the most significant festivals and ceremonies were held, maintained and supported by thousands.

Tip: The temple complex is quite large—you can enter through the west gate and exit through the east gate, having your driver wait at the east gate.
