Ta Keo Temple

Guide Location: 300 meters east of the Victory Gate of Angkor Thom. Construction period: late 10th to early 11th century. Religion: Hinduism. Deity: Shiva. Introduction: Ta Keo was originally built as a funerary temple for the king. As an unfinished structure, Ta Keo showcases the construction methods of Angkorian architecture: the entire building was first erected using stone blocks, and sculptures and reliefs were carved into the walls afterward. The temple features a mountain-temple pyramid structure, with five lotus towers built on three tiers of platforms. The base platform measures 120 meters in length and 100 meters in width, and the central tower rises to a height of 50 meters. Climbing to the top of the temple offers a panoramic view of Angkor Thom.
