Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the provincial capital of Siem Reap Province in Cambodia, located approximately 311 kilometers north of Phnom Penh and 152 kilometers from the Thai border. It is a uniquely charming tourist city in Cambodia.

The Angkor Wat, listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is the most famous attraction in the area. It consists of palaces, temples, gardens, and castles, representing the pinnacle of classical Khmer architectural art. The five iconic towers arranged in a quincunx formation symbolize the five peaks of Mount Meru, while the central tower symbolizing Mount Meru from Indian mythology is especially impressive. Another highlight is the Cambodia Cultural Village, opened in 2003, which is a microcosm of Cambodia’s landscapes and famous historical architecture. It features 11 unique villages representing cultural heritage from different periods, local customs, and dance performances including spectacular folk dances and comedic acts that draw enthusiastic applause from visitors.

Don’t miss the King Norodom Sihanouk's Royal Residence, the Old Market, high-end jewelry and handicraft shops selling Cambodia’s specialty gemstones, the beautiful Tonlé Sap Lake, and the Angkor National Museum, which opened in 2007.
