Angkor Wat (Small Angkor)

Angkor Wat was the capital and state temple of the Khmer Empire, representing the pinnacle of classical Khmer architectural art. The stunning bas-relief carvings along its surrounding galleries are breathtaking. Also known as Angkor Wat, it is one of the Four Wonders of the East and the best-preserved temple among the Angkor ruins. It is world-renowned for its grand architecture and intricate carvings, marking the height of classical Khmer architectural art. Constructed in the mid-12th century as a dedication to the Hindu god Vishnu, it was transformed into a Buddhist temple in the late 13th century.
