Introduction Located by the Loboc River, this is a captive viewing site. These adorable little creatures are an absolute must-see — they are the inspiration behind the alien in the movie E.T. Although the reception center is small, with only seven or eight small trees, the tarsiers kept here are all on full open display and can be touched directly by hand. Each tree hides one or two little tarsiers. These super cute little creatures are actually a very ancient species, with a history of 45 million years, and are endemic to the Philippines. They are only palm-sized, have eyes heavier than their heads, and toes with suction pads. During the day, they quietly cling to branches, don’t like to jump, won’t bite people, and visitors can even buy insects to feed them. If you want to hold a tarsier in your hands for a photo, a tip is required, usually around P20 per time. But be sure not to use a flash when taking photos of the tarsiers, as it can harm their eyes.
