Fort San Pedro

Introduction Fort San Pedro is located next to the harbor and, along with Manila's Fort Santiago, is known as one of the oldest forts in the Philippines. It was built when the Spanish first arrived in the country. During World War II, the fort was used to defend against Japanese forces; during the American occupation, it served as barracks for officers; and today, it has been repurposed as classrooms for a school. The San Pedro bastion near the pier marks the first Spanish settlement in Cebu, which was later converted into a memorial park.

Transportation Fort San Pedro is situated south of the city center, at the intersection of S Osmena Blvd and Legazpi Extn St, near the General Post Office. Admission/Open Hours Admission: P40. Open hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 8:00–12:00, 13:00–17:00.
