Cebu Cathedral is naturally located in the world-renowned city of Cebu. It is one of the most important churches of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu. The construction of the cathedral took many years, as it was frequently interrupted—either due to lack of funds or other unforeseen events. During World War II, the church was severely damaged, leaving only the bell tower and walls. It was quickly rebuilt in 1950, and its interior was refurbished in 2009.
