Introduction to the "Tomb of Iqbal" Tourist Attraction Tomb of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Allama Muhammad Iqbal (1873–1938) was a great Muslim poet and philosopher from the South Asian subcontinent. He was the first to propose the establishment of Pakistan as an independent Muslim state in the South Asian subcontinent. The tomb is located on the right side of the main entrance of Badshahi Mosque and was built in 1951. It is primarily constructed with red sandstone, while the interior and door frames are adorned with white marble. The large marble sarcophagus in the center of the tomb bears inscriptions of Iqbal's poetry.
