Introduction The famous rice terraces of Bali are mainly concentrated in the Tegallalang area. Here you’ll find many scenes familiar from postcards and photography works—rows of rice fields dotted with coconut trees and set against the majestic backdrop of volcanoes make it stand out among the countless terraced fields around the world. Tegallalang is also a great place to shop for Balinese handicrafts. Various craft shops are scattered along the roadside, with prices much lower than those in the tourist-crowded central and southern parts of the island.
