The Agung Rai Museum of Art is located in the Ubud district of Bali. Officially opened in 1996 and founded by Agung Rai, it functions not only as a museum and an art gallery but also as a cultural center. It is the only museum in Bali where you can view artworks by the German artist Walter Spies.

The Agung Rai Museum of Art is one of the many outstanding museums in Ubud, the hub of the arts. Nestled within an elegantly landscaped garden, it is a tranquil, garden-style museum with a rich and diverse collection that attracts numerous art enthusiasts. Agung Rai spared no expense in acquiring works by early Balinese artists from abroad, dedicating his life to preserving their cultural heritage. The museum houses an extensive collection of outstanding works by Balinese, Javanese, and international artists from the 19th century to the present. Exhibits include classic examples of Kamasan art, works from the Batuan painting school of the 1930s to 1940s, as well as ancient and precious bark paintings. All artworks are accompanied by English descriptions.
