The Bahá’í Holy Places in Haifa and the Western Galilee were recognized as a World Heritage Site because they showcase the strong pilgrimage traditions of the Bahá’í Faith and the profound meanings embedded within its religious beliefs. The site includes 11 locations spread across Acre and Haifa, comprising 26 buildings, monuments, and sites associated with the founders of the religion, such as the Shrine of Bahá’u’lláh in Acre and the Shrine of the Báb in Haifa. Additionally, there are houses, gardens, cemeteries, and an extensive complex of modern neoclassical-style buildings used for administrative, archival, and research purposes.
