The Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum is located in Jerusalem and was established in 1953 as Israel’s official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. The museum’s name is derived from the Bible, and its structure is a prism-like triangular building with reinforced concrete walls, most of which are underground.

Covering an area of 4,000 square meters, it is the world’s largest Holocaust museum, consisting of a Hall of Remembrance, a Historical Museum, galleries, the Hall of Names, an archive, a synagogue, and an educational center. The museum has ten exhibition halls, connected by a central corridor that leads to each one. Each hall presents a different aspect of Holocaust history, featuring a rich collection of exhibits, including 280 artworks donated by Holocaust survivors, museums, and memorials around the world. The site houses approximately 2,500 personal profiles and items belonging to Holocaust victims and survivors, such as artworks and letters donated by survivors. Photographs, videos, background music, and various belongings left behind by the victims instantly transport visitors back to the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps.

The museum also documents testimonies from Holocaust survivors, collects the names of Holocaust victims, and gathers photographs and documents related to the Holocaust. In addition, it hosts Holocaust exhibitions and conducts public education programs on the subject.
