Sarawak Cultural Village is a renowned tourist destination in Sarawak, located at the foot of Mount Santubong within a natural forest area, covering an area of 17 acres. The village features a serene environment and picturesque scenery, with traditional longhouses and various styles of dwellings built by Sarawak’s seven major ethnic groups: the Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, Penan, Melanau, Malay, and Chinese. Most of the structures are made from belian wood, along with bamboo, rattan, and attap leaves—giving it the feel of a traditional village. In this “living museum,” artisans dressed in traditional costumes are busy crafting handicrafts and explaining their way of life to visitors. The village also regularly hosts demonstrations of handicraft-making as well as dance and music performances by different ethnic groups.

Visiting the Sarawak Cultural Village is a cultural journey that offers a deep insight into the rich heritage of Sarawak. One of the highlights after exploring the village is watching the ethnic dance performances in the theater, which feature a rich variety of acts and are highly popular.
