Clearwater Cave

Clearwater Cave, stretching approximately 107 kilometers, is the longest cave in Asia and the seventh longest in the world. It earned its name from the nearly crystal-clear underground river that runs through it. In front of the cave lies a pool of emerald water, and it’s said that swimming in it once can make you ten years younger. The lush green water, paired with the local long-tail boats, creates a scene reminiscent of an oil painting — truly picturesque.

As expected, Clearwater Cave lives up to its reputation. The underground river inside is remarkably clear and transparent, free of any discoloration — a truly astonishing sight. The cave’s interior is equally breathtaking, featuring bizarre stalactite formations and colorful coral-like stone reefs that leave visitors in awe, all the more stunning under the lighting effects. Flowstones, plant karst formations, and fossil passages within the cave are all worth appreciating in detail. It’s said that the government plans to further develop the site, and it’s expected that the enhanced Clearwater Cave will become even more outstanding and captivating.

Exiting Clearwater Cave, the guide mentioned that if you’re lucky, you might spot the Rajah Brooke’s birdwing butterflies here. These little sprites with their pale blue wings dance gracefully through the forest, a truly enchanting sight.
