The beautiful Santubong Fishing Village is located about 32 kilometers from Kuching, at the foot of Mount Santubong. It is a picturesque and tranquil little fishing village that makes for a great leisure destination. You can reach here from Kuching by speedboat or taxi. The village boasts stunning beaches, and many important archaeological relics have been excavated here. Ancient Indian and Buddhist stone carvings and steles are often found in the Santubong delta.

During the Tang and Song dynasties, from the 9th to the 13th century, Santubong was a renowned commercial hub. There are government holiday chalets available for accommodation, but reservations must be made in advance through the Kuching District Office. Visiting this small fishing village not only allows you to experience rich fishing culture, but also to see local handicrafts, enjoy fresh seafood and specialty snacks, and watch captivating dance performances – offering a truly rewarding experience.
