Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is located in Sabah, Malaysia. Opened in 2007 and managed by the Sabah Wildlife Department, it covers an area of 280 acres, making it one of the largest wildlife parks in Malaysia and one of the best places to observe the country’s wildlife.

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park functions both as a botanical garden and a zoo. To facilitate visitor exploration, the park features a specially designed nature trail approximately 1.4 kilometers long. The trail is lined with blooming flowers and lush greenery, allowing visitors to enjoy colorful plants while observing animals. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including felines such as clouded leopards and binturongs, as well as tigers. Other highlights include Sabah’s beloved orangutans and their cousins, the proboscis monkeys. With some luck, you might even spot baby proboscis monkeys. The zoo also offers a children’s section where kids can ride on the backs of pygmy elephants and interact with many friendly and tame animals.

As the largest and most popular wildlife park in Sabah, Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Visitors interested in Malaysia’s wildlife will find it well worth a visit during those hours.
